PRECIOUS LITTLE – AND GETTING BIGGER – FEET
These forty toes have so many places to be and things to do.
Pushing off of mama’s belly, balancing on two-by-fours, peddling faster and faster, dancing to a sweet song.
Filling bigger shoes, splintered, painted with nail-polish, wiggling & kicking.
Running to help, leaping for joy, learning to jump, climbing and bouncing.
Pitter-pattering fast down the hallway in the morning, sneakily creeping to hide, touching the sky with baby eagerness to move, thumping around the house with boyhood awkwardness.
Carrying away these precious gifts someday.
Only God knows all the places these little, growing feet will go, but I pray it will be far and wide as they share how He has loved the kids they belong to with a fierce and unending love all the days of their lives.
“How lovely on the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, Who announces peace And brings good news of happiness, Who announces salvation, And says to Zion, “Your God reigns!” (Isaiah 52:7, NAS)
