” Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.” 1 Corinthians 9:24
Our sweet little doggy is half Retriever, quarter Cocker Spaniel, and quarter Beagle. She thinks she is full-blood Pit Bull when it comes to tugging. Her teeth come out and a fierce growl makes its way from the pit of her belly that would scare the pants off any trespasser – if it was every used at such a time (which it isn’t. She’s a full-blooded chicken!). When a sock, glove, rope or towel is present, she will tug and growl until she wins. Once she’s overcome and received her prize, she’s back to her sweet, lazy, whiney little self who’s only goal in life is to please and be with us.
My daughter has a similar tenacity when it comes to play. She is fun and determined and gets this cute tooth-gritting grin and even makes her own growling noise. This war went on for quite a while, but as you can see, the dog’s teeth vs. the little girls hands won the day.
